Migration to smarter comms

May 20 @ 12:50 pm - 3:30 pm

Overview:

We are in a position where radical change is approaching through both desire for future-proof solutions and the emergence of new technologies, particularly the buzz around IoT. Current communications media that has been the backbone of Operational Technology and remote sensing in Utilities for decades is becoming obsolete. Our industry needs more sensors to take more measurements with improved data quality with a secure communications backbone. Can the developments in cellular, radio and LPWAN technologies help utilities and solution providers manage both migration from copper to fibre and the surge in demand for data? What are the key success criteria to meeting these demands and how do we transition now?
