Sensing in Water 2025 (SiW25) is SWIG’s flagship conference, bringing together the UK’s most focused community of professionals working with water and wastewater sensors. Taking place on 24–25 September 2025 at the Holywell Park Conference Centre, Loughborough, this two-day event explores the latest developments in sensing technologies, data systems and their practical applications.
Whether you’re involved in operations, research, technology development or regulation, SiW25 is your opportunity to stay informed, build meaningful connections and shape the future of water management.
A Programme Built Around Practical Innovation
Over two days, SiW25 will feature a focused programme of main-stage sessions and parallel workshops tackling real-world challenges in water and wastewater sensing.
Main sessions will include:
Leveraging Instrumentation and Data to support sustainable water resource management
Harnessing IT/OT Convergence and AI for smarter network operations
Achieving Comprehensive Situational Awareness in control room environments
Monitoring for Compliance and Environmental Impact using smart technologies
Workshops will provide interactive discussion on:
Preventing rising main bursts and pollution through smart sensing
The evolving role of sensors in regulation and enforcement
Opportunities for European collaboration on water sensor research and policy
The newly launched Pitch & Progress: Innovation Clinic for the Water Sector, where early-stage businesses will pitch sensor-based ideas and products to a live audience and expert panel for feedback and discussion
The full agenda will be announced soon!
Hear from Sector Leaders
We’re pleased to welcome the following keynote speakers:
Emily Timmins (Anglian Water)
Dr Piers Clark (Isle Utilities)
They will be joined by a diverse lineup of speakers from utilities, research institutions, regulators and technology providers, sharing insight through case studies and live discussion.
Explore the Latest Technologies
Our exhibition space will showcase cutting-edge developments from across the water sensing sector; from sensors and platforms to data tools and AI. If you are a supplier of relevant technologies, a limited number of exhibition spaces are still available!
Make Meaningful Connections
SiW25 is a niche event with a focused audience of professionals working in sensor technologies for water and wastewater. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with others who understand your challenges, whether during technical sessions, at the exhibition, or at our evening Gala Dinner, which will feature a performance by environmental economist and comedian Dr Matt Winning.
